To celebrate the launch of the DJ Voice agency, we are giving away this free Various Artists EPs showcasing the wares of some of the fine talents we are now representing.
Up first is Andrade, the Frenchman who has released on Fragil Musique and Hudd Traxx before now. Here he drops ‘Tour Stories’, a funked up house tune with warm rubbery kicks, subtle percussive details and a grubby, bobbling bassline that will really get floors pumping. It’s expertly produced to jump right out of the speakers before hotly tipped deep house and techno producer Borrowed Identity, who has already released on DVs1’s much-loved label, serves up ‘Addictive’. This one is a firmly rooted house track with solid kick drums underpinning rattling dub techno chords and rippling synth patterns that bring plenty of charm and colour to the physical beats.
On the flip you’ll find fast rising UK producer and One Records and Catwash associate Jack Wickham. He offers the deep, enveloping house waves and liquid grooves of ‘Forget’. Run through with subtle spoken female vocals there’s a certain sexy libidinousness to the track that really works its way under your skin. Finally, French pair Yamen & EDA, who have also released on One Records and Safari before now, serve up ‘Dam Dam, a kinetic percussive number with boom-bap drums and perc, well treated vocalsthat echo in and out to bring some neo-soul to proceedings and a more than hefty baseline.
